Prime members can now order from more than one million products as late as midday for delivery before 10pm that day, making it even more convenient to shop on Amazon.com.au – from click to doorstep in just a few hours. To celebrate the launch and make some extra special deliveries, Amazon Australia has appointed cricketing superstar and Australia’s fastest bowler, Mitch Starc as their ‘Chief Speed Officer’.
More than one million products across categories including everyday essentials, electronics, home and kitchen, beauty, video games, books, toys, clothes, shoes and more are now eligible for Same-Day Delivery. To find items eligible for Prime Free Same-Day Delivery, customers can look for items marked with Prime delivery 'Today by 10pm’ or the ‘Prime Same-Day’ badge on product detail pages on the Amazon App or website.
Janet Menzies, Country Manager for Amazon Australia, said, “We are focused on getting even faster for Prime members and are thrilled to be hitting a major milestone with the announcement of free Same-Day Delivery across a huge range of products for members in Sydney. We know that busy Australians really appreciate the time saved and the reliability of knowing that their order will arrive when we say it will. In fact, a report out today shows that faster online delivery times are estimated to have provided nearly $350 million of value to Australian consumers through improved convenience and time-saved over the past decade.”
“Now for Prime members in Sydney, that is as fast as the very same afternoon or evening. We are really proud of the range of products that are eligible for Same-Day Delivery, meaning that you can get everything from a torch for your family camping trip to a water bottle for kids’ footy practice.”
Amazon Australia aims to expand product selection and delivery areas eligible for Amazon’s Prime Free Same-Day Delivery and One-Day Delivery, to provide more Australian Prime members access to even more products, faster. Prime members outside of Same-Day or One-Day eligible locations can still benefit from free delivery in as fast as two days on eligible orders.
