The holiday season is just around the corner, and while it’s a time for joy, celebration, and creating memories with loved ones, it can also feel a little overwhelming.

Between finding the perfect gifts, staying within budget, and juggling a packed calendar, it’s easy for the festive cheer to turn into festive stress. That’s why we’ve rounded up our top shopping tips to help make your holiday season simpler, stress-free, and full of cheer!

  • Unlock Prime benefits

Amazon Prime members can access the latest delivery cut offs alongside other benefits such as Prime Video. Additionally, Prime members can now access a 24-month DoorDash DashPass membership for free (AU$239 value), and benefit from unlimited AU$0 delivery fees on eligible DoorDash orders. New members can join with a 30-day free trial at amazon.com.au/prime, then pay $9.99 monthly or $79 annually for a membership.

  • Add convenience with the Amazon App

Shopping on-the-go is easy with the Amazon App, where you can search, shop, and track orders in real time. Under “Your Orders,” you can review past and upcoming deliveries, and tap the item or “see all” for more information. Sending a package to someone else? You can share tracking information to friends and family from the Progress Tracker page—which is where you land once you click Track Package or tap on the item shown on the Your Orders page on mobile. You can also use Amazon Lens to search exact matches and similar items in the Amazon App.

  • Organise your shopping with a Wishlist

Map out your holiday shopping by creating an Amazon Wishlist. Enable deal notifications to be notified when a Wishlist item goes on sale.

  • Rely on the toy experts

For those shopping for little ones, Amazon Australia’s Top 100 Toy List is here to help ensure every gift is a winner. All the toys on the list received expert toy-testing and a seal of approval from The Playmakers, nine official toy-testing kids connected to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

  • Shop everything from gifts to everyday essentials, to the Christmas pud

Customers can shop from a huge range of products on Amazon.com.au including limited-edition Christmas pudding, the ‘‘Amazon Everything Christmas Pudding’, created with the help of TV personality and pastry chef, Anna Polyviou, and small Australian business and Christmas Pudding experts, Pud For All Seasons. This year’s limited edition pud is available for just $10 and is a savoury creation that blends the flavours of a traditional pud with essence of ham, turkey, gravy, pumpkin, cherry, rosemary and more, to bring many of the quintessential tastes of an Aussie Chrissie, into a single bite.

  • Shop early

While Amazon Australia’s estimated delivery cut off dates aim to allow shoppers to make any final purchases, it doesn’t mean customers should leave their shopping until the last minute. Customers can shop now to take advantage of great deals and receive their orders ahead of Christmas.

  • Use filters

Sort items by ‘Prime’ and filter by ‘Ships from Australia’ for faster delivery times. Orders shipped from overseas or shipped by third party sellers may take longer than domestic shipping, and may not arrive in time for Christmas.

  • Shop what’s in stock

If some items are out of stock, it might slow down the delivery, so customers can either remove out of stock items from their basket or choose to have items delivered ‘when available.’

  • Ensure payment and address details are accurate

An old or incorrect address, or an expired credit card on a customer account might mean the order will be declined or will be delayed until the details can be updated.

  • Double check dates at Checkout

Most importantly, you should always check the final delivery date at Checkout. Delivery cut off dates are a guideline and can be impacted by external factors.

  • Make the most of the extended returns period

For the 2024 holiday season, most of the items purchased between 1 November and 31 December 2024 can be returned for change of mind until 31 January 2025.
