Amazon Australia offers free return shipping on eligible Fashion (such as certain clothing, shoes and accessories) and other items fulfilled by Amazon Australia which display the “Free Returns” message on the product detail page. How do I return a gift to Amazon Australia if I am the gift giver?

Regardless of whether you marked your item as a gift when ordering, you can share the gift receipt with the recipient via email by visiting ‘Your Orders’, and clicking ‘Share Gift Receipt’. Instructions for how the recipient can return the item are below.

If you are in possession of the item and prefer to return yourself, you may return most unused and unopened items fulfilled by Amazon Australia or Amazon Global within 30 days of receipt of delivery for a full refund of the price you paid for the item if you change your mind.

How do I return a gift to Amazon Australia if I am a gift recipient?

If you are the gift recipient, and you’ve decided to return a gift, you’re able to return items fulfilled by Amazon Australia if they were marked as a gift at the time of purchase. You can visit the Returns Centre page in your Amazon account. Here, you’ll be prompted to enter a 17-digit order number which can be found on the packing slip. If you don't have the packing slip, you can contact our customer service team for assistance.

After you’ve entered the order number, select the item(s) you want to return and your preferred return method, then follow the instructions. You can drop off your return package at an eligible Australia Post Drop Off or ParcelPoint drop off locations.

Using Amazon Lens, you can upload an image, take a photo, or scan a barcode to discover exact matches and similar items in the Amazon Shopping app.

Alternatively, you can return your items using a gift receipt shared by the gift giver.

How will I get a refund?

Refunds are provided to gift recipients in the form of an Amazon.com.au gift card, issued to the account used to make the return. If you’re the gift-giver, you can choose to have the balance refunded to the original payment method.
