Making thoughtful shopping choices is becoming increasingly important to many of us. But shopping smart doesn't have to mean choosing between your values and your budget. Amazon offers several shopping programs that give customers more options in how they browse and buy. From products that have external certifications to used, returned and open-box items and trade-in opportunities, these four programs are designed to give you more choice and allow you to shop based on what matters to you most. Here's what you need to know.

1. Climate Pledge Friendly program

Climate Pledge Friendly
Hawkesdale Wind Farm, located in South West Victoria, is now commercially operational and forecasted to generate enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of an estimated 67,000 Victorian homes each year.

Climate Pledge Friendly makes it easy for customers to discover and shop products with sustainability certifications in Amazon’s store. The recently launched program features more than 180,000 products that have been verified by trusted third-party certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, OEKO-TEX, or Green Seal, making it easy to shop according to your sustainability values.

The program includes a range of brands from global favourites like L’OREAL, Bissell, Braun, and Philips, to local Aussie sellers including STEP ONE, Modibodi and JOONYA. To shop Climate Pledge Friendly and discover items across beauty, fashion, everyday essentials, baby, home & kitchen and electronics, visit Amazon.com.au/ClimatePledgeFriendly or look for the leaf icon in search results – you can explore each product’s sustainability features and certifications by clicking the dropdown option.

2. Amazon Resale

Amazon Resale

Previously called Amazon Warehouse, Amazon Resale gives returned products a second life, with great deals on quality used, returned, or open-box products.

Whether you’re looking for value or prefer buying used to extend the life of products, Amazon Resale puts eligible returned products back on sale, offering savings on a wide selection of quality used, or open-box products from your favourite brands.

Before an item can be sold on Amazon Resale we conduct an inspection, testing the condition of each item and providing a description, making it easier to make a more informed decision. Based on the quality check, each item will be assigned one of four listing conditions.

There are two main ways to shop for Amazon Resale products.

The first is to visit the Amazon Resale homepage, where you can browse by category, or enter the exact item you’re looking for in the search bar at the top of the page.

The second is to visit the regular product page for an item. Scroll down the page and look for a section that says Buy Used. If the Amazon Resale version of your product is available, you’ll be able to See details and choose from options in a variety of conditions.

3. Amazon Renewed

Amazon Renewed

Those in the know, know that sometimes a pre-loved product, lovingly refurbished, is an excellent way to make your dollar go further. Shop Amazon Renewed for products that have been refurbished to be fully functional for sale at great prices, including computers, smartphones, watches and tablets, headphones, TVs, gaming equipment, kitchen appliances and cameras. All Amazon Renewed purchases come with a minimum twelve-month warranty from the seller – that’s on top of the normal returns policy. Plus, each Renewed purchase helps extends the lifetime of a device.
