Amazon Australia announced 600 new seasonal job opportunities across its fulfilment centres and logistics sites nationwide to support the festive season and meet customer demand during key shopping periods including Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday.

Amazon Australia is committed to helping its employees grow their careers through onsite skills training and paid for tuition.

Amazon Australia will onboard 600 seasonal workers for the holidays. Roles are available in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Gosford and Geelong. Amazon is looking for people to help pick, pack and ship customer orders, with no previous experience or formal qualifications required. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.

For those preferring a more flexible work arrangement, there will also be earning opportunities around the country delivering packages with Amazon Flex, the company's app that allows people to earn extra money on their own schedule.

"The holiday season and festive period is a special time, and we're proud to provide these seasonal job opportunities for individuals in our local communities across Australia," said Jacqui Marker, HR Director of Operations at Amazon Australia.

Popular social media finance guru Queenie Tan spent the day with an Amazon Flex delivery partner to discover why it’s such a great way to boost your income.

"These seasonal roles can be a stepping stone towards a long-term career at Amazon with comprehensive job training provided." Marker added, "These seasonal jobs are ideal for retirees wanting to stay engaged, students on breaks, or those looking to re-enter the workforce and earn extra income over the holidays. We welcome anyone interested in rewarding temporary work within an inclusive environment to apply for our 600 open seasonal positions nationwide."

In addition to the 600 new seasonal hires, Amazon has created over 550 permanent roles across its Australian operational network this year. Seasonal workers often transition into permanent Amazon jobs, like Emily who started as a seasonal associate in 2022.

"After administrative work previously, I wanted a more active role and joined Amazon as a seasonal worker," said Emily, now a full-time employee at Amazon's robotics fulfilment centre in Kemps Creek. "Three months in, I applied for a permanent position. I love the work environment and flexibility of working four days on, three off to spend time with family."
