The rankings are based on insights from LinkedIn’s one billion members about gender diversity, upskilling opportunities, and internal promotions at thousands of different companies.
Pritho Saxena, Director of HR - Australia at Amazon said people are at the heart of everything Amazon does, and that he was proud that LinkedIn had recognised Amazon Australia’s commitment to providing the resources and opportunities for people to thrive.
“This incredible recognition is testament to Amazon’s ongoing efforts to create a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic workplace where everyone can thrive. We are proud that this ranking reflects that commitment and the incredible contributions of our employees every day,” he said.
Amazon created an additional 550 permanent jobs across Amazon Australia’s network last year with employees benefitting from competitive perks, career advancement opportunities, and mentoring programs like Stepping Up To Leadership, the National Association of Women in Operations (NAWO), and Career Choice.
“At Amazon, career growth is encouraged and celebrated,” explained Ben Lee, Finance Manager.
“This isn't just about climbing the ladder. What makes Amazon an amazing place to work is the ability to so easily move laterally to different parts of the business and develop new skills. The support and resources here have helped me grow in ways I never imagined, and that’s what makes Amazon such an exciting place to build a career.”
Amazon’s commitment to internal mobility is part of its larger strategy to attract and retain top talent in a competitive job market – whether you’re moving from one country to another, moving teams or moving from amazon.com.au to AWS or Audible.
Employees have the rare opportunity to explore different roles and develop new skills, which provides an almost endless list of opportunities to build your career or even adopt a new and completely different career path within Amazon globally.
There are also a great range of benefits that make Amazon a great place to work, including our popular Dogs At Work program which has been proven to lower stress and boost morale and is now running successfully in our corporate offices around Australia.
Our commuter benefits scheme allows employees to save on the cost of getting to and from work while Amazon also offers subsidized health insurance for employees and their dependents on top of salary continuance (income protection), and life insurance.
Amazon has all kinds of jobs for all kinds of people, and prides itself on hiring individuals with all types of background and experiences and celebrates diversity of leadership and thought as a key component in its mission to create the most customer-centric company in the world.
